Punta de Lobos is a fascinating and enchanting place where you will be able to appreciate nature in all its magnificence. It is located in the South Pacific Coast of Chile only 250 kilometers from Santiago. It is known worldwide for the excellent beaches and waves for surfing. The climate is Mediterranean, which allows for comfortable temperatures to enjoy the combination of ocean and country.
The area also boasts a beach, several kilometers long, which is perfect for swimming, sun tanning, horseback riding, hiking, or simply relaxing in the beautiful sand. Only 6 kilometers north, you can find the town of Pichilemu, meaning in native language "small forest". It has a population of 13,000 and the first inhabitants were the Promaucaes natives. Also nearby, the village of Cahuil, has a salt marsh from which it is possible to see several birds like herons, coots, ducks and black neck swans. Another place to visit is the village of Pañul, well-known for their clay pottery.
If you don't mind travelling a little bit more, Colchagua Valley, also known as the Wine Route is only one hour away. In this valley, you will find some of the most renowned vineyards of Chile. From there you will be able to do wine tastings, guided tours, and of course purchase excellent wines at an excellent price.
